and earn some money if they have been rated service connected at 100% with no future appointments and first got the compensation in 1989? Also, if they can, what is the income limit for social security disability?

I work at a store where I get paid salary. I typically work over 40 hours a week. And this week we have to work on New Years Eve and New Years day. Should we be getting paid overtime when we work over 40 hours? As well, should we get holiday pay for working on a holiday? I only ask this because when I work under 40 hours, they dock my pay, but I receive no compensation for extra work.

There’s a guy who does this at a veterans club and makes good tips because it’s supposedly “volunteer work” which allows members to be able to smoke in the club. He also rents a room in his house. He plays golf and seems physically normal. I’m sure he doesn’t pay any income tax at all. Is this legal or fair?

Most people are brought up to believe money isn’t everything and it is not a substitute for happiness.. yet in lawsuit after lawsuit people are awarded hundreds if not millions of dollars for their “losses”. (not repayment, but amounts over and above the original loss) Often times in lew of any criminal charges. Isn’t that where the real issue should be addressed?
Wiz..exactly my point. What is the worth of anything? So we slap a judgement for $20 million dollars…fine, make it $200 million. The hospital, company, or individual folds and nobody gets anything and the people who did the damage walk away without any criminal negligence. It’s not an eye for an eye anymore… it’s brain damage for $2 million, polluted water for $500,000. It’s more like a game of Monopoly.
Shimar: Good example. In many cases there is also not enough award given to cover bills and expenses, but there are equally as many instances where obscene amounts are given. And I agree, the guilty party is rarely punished for criminal actions.
Point and case: OJ Simpson…not guilty criminally, guilty as H@LL in civil court.
